Thousands Enjoy the
‘Taste of New York Farm and Wine Market’
Over 2100 people attended the ‘Taste of New York Farm and Wine Market’ on Saturday, August 8, 2009, in Sackets Harbor, New York, on the shore of Lake Ontario.
“Everyone involved with the event is very pleased with this year’s attendance. I can’t praise the vendors enough for the overall high quality of their product presentations,” said event organizer Jamie Mayer from Infinite Media / CNY Media Group. “Special thanks to all the volunteers, our sponsors, and the thousands of people who came from all over the state to enjoy the event.”
Nearly 40 New York State wineries and farms sampled and sold their products produced with pride in New York State. The Empire State’s finest wines, sweetest jams, chocolate, ice cream and maple syrup, tastiest bread, sauces, cheese and meat, was available to enjoy and purchase at Northern New York's largest outdoor wine and farm product showcase.
One of the vendors, Kevin Richardson, North Country Farms President, knows why the event was such a success, even given today’s economy. "Because of the economy, local communities in general, are starting to turn more towards food in their own backyard. So it just brings everybody together throughout the state of New York to find out what's there," said Richardson.
The ‘Taste of New York Farm and Wine Market’ was sponsored by Arsenal Wine and Liquor, Clarence Henry Coach, Z93, Froggy 97, and News10Now. Associate Sponsors for the event included Empire Merchants North, the Watertown Daily Times, and Newzjunky.com. FLP Group / Make Ready Group provided secondary sponsorship. Organizing Sponsors were the Sackets Harbor Chamber of Commerce and Infinite Media / CNY Media Group.
A portion of the proceeds from the event benefits the Children's Home of Jefferson County.
